I see duplicate or blank items after an eBay import

Updated September 5, 2026

Seeing items with no cost of goods, location, or barcode at the top of your inventory after an import? Those are newly imported eBay listings, not your original items with data removed. Your originals are still there, untouched — scroll past the new entries or search by your own item names to see them.

Why It Happens

When the import can't match an eBay listing to an existing Flippd item, it brings the listing in as a new item. eBay doesn't know your cost of goods, storage location, barcode, or source, so those fields start empty on imported items. Your existing items are never modified by an import — the sync physically cannot write those fields.

How to Fix It

  1. Don't bulk-edit or delete anything yet.

  2. Check for a pending review first. If a sync found listings it wasn't sure about, Home shows a Listings awaiting review banner and the eBay screen has Review duplicate matches — deciding those there merges duplicates instead of creating them.

  3. See exactly what the import created. Open the eBay screen under Settings > Integrations and tap Items synced — the Imported items list shows each listing as Imported, Updated, or Skipped.

  4. If the duplicates came from a recent import, contact support from the ? Help icon in the header — we can remove an entire import batch cleanly and restore your account to exactly its pre-import state.

  5. Before re-importing, set your eBay listings' SKUs to the matching Flippd SKU or Stock Number so listings link to your existing items instead of duplicating — see How does matching work?
