Depop Fee Structure Explained
Selling Fee: $0 for US Sellers
Depop removed its 10% selling fee for eligible new US listings in July 2024. If you see "10% Depop fee" in an article, it's outdated for US sellers.
Payment Processing Fee
3.3% + $0.45 per transaction for US sellers, charged on the total the buyer pays — item price plus shipping and applicable taxes.
Optional: Boosted Listings
Boosting a listing costs 12% of the sale price — but only if the boosted item sells. It's the main way fees can climb back toward the old 10%+ territory, so boost selectively.
Tips to Maximize Your Depop Profit
Boost Only High-Margin Items
A 12% boost fee on a thin-margin item can erase your profit entirely. Reserve boosting for pieces with enough margin to absorb it — and let organic search sell the rest.
Price Your Shipping Honestly
Processing fees apply to shipping too, so undercharging for shipping quietly eats margin on every order. Weigh items when you list and price shipping to actually cover the label.
Know Your True Net Per Item
Depop's low fees make it easy to assume you're profitable. But after item cost, shipping supplies, and the occasional boost, margins vary a lot per item — tracking them reveals what's actually worth sourcing again.
